Fall is here and I am loving every second of it! I’m sitting here now on my patio with a lite Fall breeze and the sun is shining even though its probably only 68 degrees right now. The kids are in school and the baby is napping and its just so peaceful and quiet! I love this time of year because it gets me in the mood for soups! I came across a recipe I made a long time ago and decided to give a few little quirks to fit my family and it turned out amazing. I LOVED this Chicken and Wild Rice soup so much and even my kids devoured it!
We haven’t really had a Winter at all this year in Utah. We had a few little snow storms but nothing compared to our normal winters. Last week we actually had a cold spell in the middle April, which is odd. I think we even got about an inch of snow. Just enough of a light dusting to cover my flowers.
Do you ever have days when there multiple practices, events, or meetings scheduled, and then by the time you get home your family is starving and its well past dinner time? Yeah, at our house that’s probably the situation every other night! If you can relate, then I’ve got a great dinner solution that’s ready when you are – these easy Slow Cooker French Dip & Swiss Sandwiches!
Hi, Mommy on Demand readers! I’m glad to be back this month with another delicious recipe to share. If you are familiar with my blog, The Seasoned Mom, you know that I have a few of rules when it comes to cooking: (1) keep it simple and easy; (2) make it seasonal; and (3) be sure that it tastes delicious!
Last month I shared our recipe for Apple Cobbler Bars, which is still one of the best desserts that I’ve made all year. If you haven’t tried them yet, I encourage you to do so!
I made this Turkey Chili a few weeks ago when it was freezing outside. Of course life happened and now im just getting around to blogging about this Turkey Chili. This was my first time trying ground turkey. I have friends that have used ground turkey for everything so I thought I would give this Turkey Chili a try using ground turkey. Of course if you know me I like convenience and I tossed everything into the slow cooker. Which honestly is the best way and my only way to cook any kind of chili or soup.
With this being our first time trying ground turkey im still not sure if im hooked onto quite yet. I’m still thinking that I need to try a few more recipes to see if I like ground turkey over hamburger.

I’m always on the lookout for a quick family meal. The last thing I like doing when I get home from a busy day at work is try to decide what to cook for dinner tonight. It is often times very tempting for me to just grab a quick dinner on my way home from work. But I want to insure that my family is always getting a more nutritious dinner. This is why I like these Kraft Recipe Makers. I loved how these meals come conveniently pre-packed using all real ingredients which helps makes a quick family dinner in no time at all. I literally spend less the 10 minutes in the kitchen preparing dinner. Which in return means I can spend more time with family, which is important to us. The only work I needed to do, was to purchase the meat, the sides and provide my favorite the slow cooker.
Utah has a cold front coming in this weekend. We are expecting to get a few inches of snow in the Valleys and 1′-2′ feet of snow in the mountains. Which means it is freezing cold and wet outside. Which means we lounge around the house in our pajamas, we don’t get ready and we definitely don’t leave the house. So I plan on starting this Slow Cooker Beef Stew in the crock-pot while me and the kiddo stare out the window and watch the snow fall. I might even sneak a few rounds of the Olympic’s during nap time. That is the great thing about this Slow Cooker Beef Stew, you can start dinner in the morning and you don’t have to worry about it again until later that evening.
How many of you love your Slow Cooker? I absolutely love my slow cooker, and this Slow Cooker Beef Stew is my all time favorite stew! I love how the meat just falls apart and the potatoes and carrots are the perfect tenderness. Add a few bread sticks to dip into the sauce and we are set.
I don’t know about you but I LOVE Olive Garden! Every time me and girl friends get together we always meet up at Olive Garden. I always and always get the Paste E Fagioli Soup with salad. Now now let’s not forget about the bread sticks and a side of alfredo dipping sauce! Great…now I
want need to go to Olive Garden! I’m pretty sure we always pick here because we want to eat “light and healthy” and with soup and salad your set…right! Well wrong for me because I say bring on the bread sticks and keep them flowing and make sure my alfredo boat is always full!!!
Now with the temperatures dropping and snow falling it makes me want to eat soup and I always enjoy making soup for dinner. Especially cause it is so easy to make and its usually low fat and very filing. Except if you have bread and alfredo sauce!
I got this recipe Pasta E Fagioli recipe of of Pinterest and I forgot which blog so I apologize but I promise you all love this recipe!
Now if I can only master that alfredo sauce I would never have to go out to eat ever again.
Don’t you just love all the color! I figure the more colors in a meal the healthier it must be!
Here is another great recipe to add to my list of crock-pot recipes!
We love Chinese food in this house!! I would eat it all the time if I could but my husband is so picky we can only go to 1 restaurant that he has been going to since he was a little boy. The same restaurant was actually our first date back when we were dating in high school. But sadly its half way across the valley or we would probably go at least once a month.
So instead I have to get creative in the kitchen and try to make my own Chinese dishes. I’m not complaining though because this recipe was so simple and easy to make and it actually tasted great. The best part it’s made in the crock-pot which means less dishes to wash and you don’t have to spend a whole lot of time in the kitchen preparing dinner!
Well Fall has hit Utah already and its still early September. It was a smothering 100+ degrees one day and right when September 1st came it has been chilly and rainy just about everyday since then. Which im not complaining but Utah has some crazy weather so im just hoping we get to enjoy Fall a little bit more before the brutal Winter hits.
So im basically getting a jump start on getting ready for Fall and Winter. There is nothing more comforting then soup and a chilly day.
We love love enchiladas in our house and since its a cold day I thought why not turn enchiladas into soup. This recipe has quickly tuned into one of our favorites.
