Sweet Whiskey Street Tacos

We love tacos at our house!  We probably have them at least twice a month.   I’m always on the search to try something new, to spice up taco night.  My husband was recently working by one of those taco trucks.  I personally would never be able to eat at one but he gave it a try after his coworkers went their the previous day.  Well he loved it and said it was one of the best street tacos he has ever had. So that’s where I got the idea to make my own street tacos.

Well they were fantastic!

Sweet Whiskey Street Tacos

Prep time
Cook time
Total time

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs steak
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Coke
  • ¼ cup whiskey, I used Jack Daniels
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup onion, diced
  • corn tortilla shells
  • cilantro, optional
Instructions
  1. Whisk all the spices and liquids together; add steak. Let marinate for 1 hour or overnight. You can either thinly slice the steak and cook in a sauce pan or you can grill the steak and then slice. Either way it will taste fantastic. While your meat is cooking slice up your onion and cilantro. Wrap corn tortillas in a damp paper towel and heat for 30 seconds. Add steak, onions and cilantro.
  2. Enjoy!
Notes
If you don't want to use whiskey just use a little extra coke. I personally thought it was really sweet. So next time I will use less brown sugar and maybe had some chili powder for a little kick!
