With having little kids I am always trying to come with a way to always keep them entertained. The weather this year here in Utah has been crazy! We basically didn’t have a Winter and we have gone right into Spring with a few days that feel like Summer. Which means we have been outside alot and all of our toys that I am usually just getting out for Summer have been out for awhile and well they are starting to get a little bored with them now. SunnyD is WhereFunBegins for us!
While we were on a recent trip to Sam’s Club I came across the refrigeration section and saw a 24 pack of SunnyD located on the end cap. SunnyD brings back so many memories of when I was a little girl. My mom would always pack me one in my lunch for school. So I wanted my kids to experience SunnyD and start some fun memories as well. Plus they were on sale for $5.38 so I had to buy them.
I always like coming up with inexpensive ways to keep the little ones entertained. Even better when I can reuse items in my house. My son is into tossing things right now. I started thinking of what I could make so he is just not throwing random toys. So I thought of making him DIY Ring Toss.
I somehow convince my husband to cut some wood we had in the garage measuring out to about 2.5 feet long. He placed a nail right in the center to hold it together in the form of an “x”
I decided I needed to jazz it up a bit, so I spray painted it blue.
Then while the kids were running around in the yard while I was hard at work painting. We started drinking a few SunnyD’s. Then I thought why not reuse the bottles to “catch” the rings.
I decided to give them a little bit of color as well. All I did was remove the SunnyD label. I grabbed some more cans of spray paint that we had in the garage. I painted 4 Pink and 1 Yellow. Having the yellow being the center and also the big winner if you catch a ringer on the yellow!
After the paint was dry and no longer sticky. We needed to glue them onto the “x”
Now the fun part. To start tossing in the rings! But we needs some rings. So I went into my swim bag and grabbed my swimming pool rings. They were the perfect fit and great for little hands
Do you have any fun memories with SunnyD, I would love to hear how you are having Fun in Sun!
