This is one of my favorite wreaths I have ever made! I was cleaning out the garage a few weeks back and I came across a bag of pine cones that I collected for a craft project that I never got around to making. So I was fiddling around on Pinterest of course and I saw this Pine Cone Wreath and I fell in love with it! I think it was from Martha Stewart.
It’s just what my front door needed!!
This entire wreath cost me maybe $8.00 dollars. But I needed a wreath, berries and needed some wire. So if you already have them on hand it will be even cheaper.
To start you need to head out into your yard or neighbors yard and start collecting some pine cones.
Place them on a cookie sheet and bake at 175 degrees for 1 hour. This way you kill all the bugs. Then let them cool.
Now here comes the fun. Grab your wire, pine cones and your wreath.
I cut my wire to at least 12 inches. I wrap the wire around my cone first then I wrapped it around my wreath. Continue wrapping cones around wreath until it is full all the way around. If I was to make another Pine Cone Wreath. I would put a little dap of hot glue on with it. It just helps to keep the pine cones from shifting.
After my wreath was done I trimmed off my excess wire on the back of the wreath. I hot glued some extra felt that I had around the house onto the back of the wreath so my front door wouldn’t get scratched.
When I got done with my wreath I decided it needed a little bit of color. So when I was at the Dollar Tree I grabbed some of their berries to add onto my Pine Cone Wreath. But feel free to jazz it up with berries, ribbon, Christmas decor anything would work.
Hope you enjoy your new Pine Cone Wreath!!
