Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

There is nothing better then a  Homemade Cinnamon Roll baking away in your kitchen!    The aroma alone makes me want to devour the entire pan to myself.    I don’t make Cinnamon Rolls very often but when I do make them they are gone way to fast!!
The great thing about this recipe is it is so easy to make.  So I don’t want anyone to be turned away thinking this recipe sounds to complicated to make.   Making any kind of bread is really quite simple and the end product is totally worth giving it a try.
  To me the hardest part is the waiting for the dough to rise.
Now let’s get these Cinnamon Rolls started!!
To start you need to proof your yeast.   Add warm milk to yeast and sugar.  Mix and stir and let sit for about 10 minutes until foamy
After 10 minutes it should look like this.   If it doesn’t the you might want to buy some fresher yeast and try again.
Add all other remaining ingredients.   Cover with light cloth and let sit until it doubles in size.  About 2 hours.
Place dough on a well floured counter.    Form dough to look like a log.    Roll dough to about 16″ wide and about 21″ long
Cover dough in the yummy goodness of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.  Roll dough up on the longest side.   Trying to keep the dough tight when rolling up.
Cut dough into 1 inch slices.    Place on a greased cookie and cover.  Let rest and rise for at least 1 hour.    Often times I let it sit for a few hours.
Bake at 350 degrees.   Let cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
They make the perfect little Cinnamon Roll!
The more frosting the better is my motto!!
If you don’t have all these gone right way just store in an air tight container and give them 20 seconds in the microwave to heat them up!

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp yeast
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1½ Tbsp. cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  1. Put warm milk, sugar and yeast into your mixer and mix for a minute until combined. Let the yeast grow until foamy and bubbly (about 5-10 minutes). Then add the eggs, butter, flour, and salt and combine until smooth and mixed together. Let dough sit in the bowl, covered until it has doubled in size (about 1½ hours). When it has doubled, put a small amount of flour on the counter and place dough onto the counter. Roll dough out until it measures 16 inches x 21 inches.
  2. Once you have rolled your dough out. Combine the melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Crumble on top of dough. On the longest side roll up dough keeping it tight and cut into 16 equal parts. About 1"
  3. Place rolls on greased cookie sheet 4 across and 4 down. Cover with greased plastic wrap or light towel. Let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour). Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
Frosting Instructions:
  1. Combine all ingredients together. Spread generously onto of cinnamon rolls after they have cooled for 10 minutes. Or to save time I like to buy the canister of Cream Cheese frosting

My favorite part of the Cinnamon Roll is the center!  I don’t why but my family fights over the centers!!!
