Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sandwich

Have you all heard of Chick-Fil-A?   It has always been a family favorite fast food restaurant for us.  I love their Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich with pickles!   I love the chicken nugget’s because they are 100% real chicken for my son,   I love their salads and I even love all their dipping sauces.   I love how they always have a fresh flower on the table and the staff is always polite and refer to everything as “My Pleasure” If you can’t tell I  just love this place!!

At first they were only in the malls but now they are all over the valley.   Which is awesome cause I really hate dragging a 2 year old into the mall just for some delicious lunch.   The point im getting at,  is you need to try this Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sandwich recipe and if you are unfortunate and don’t have one anywhere close to you then give this recipe a try.   Because it’s so close to the original it is amazing!

Adapted from Food Network
Ingredients
  • 2 chicken Breasts
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1.5 cups Peanut Oil
Marinade
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp pickle juice, this is a must
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp Water
Batter
  • ¼ cup Whole Wheat flour
  • ¾ cup Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp milk Powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Buns
  • Lettuce, optional
  • Pickles, optional
Instructions
  1. Pound chicken out to ½ inch thick. Sprinkle with Salt, Pepper and Paprika. In a small bowl add egg, milk, pickle juice, and water and whisk until combined. I liked to marinate my seasoned chicken in this mixture for about 30 minutes...tastes so much better. In another mixing bowl add flours, powder sugar, baking soda, dry mustard, milk powder, paprika, salt and pepper mix together until combined. In a small frying pan add Peanut oil and let it get hot. Add marinated chicken into the flour mixture until chicken is completely coated. Add 1 breast at a time into oil cooking on each side until chicken is cooked thoroughly. Either toast your buns, add lettuce and pickles.
Notes
*I made the mistake of making sure my chicken wasn't thin enough. I think it fluffed up once it hit the oil. My chicken started to burn in the oil and it was no near done cooking and starting to burn. So I ended up cooking in my oven for about 15 minutes until chicken is completely cooked.
*Even though this recipe says 2 chicken breasts, you can add at least 2 more breasts and have plenty of topping to cover them.

  1. Yay! I’ll say it again, YAY! We are from Georgia, the capitol of Chick-Fil-A and since we have been stationed in Vegas we have been doing with out. Can you believe there is no Chick-Fil-A here? I’m so glad you came up with a copy-cat recipe! Pinning this now :)

  11. I would have thought to marinate the chicken in pickle juice. It’s a great use for it though. I’ve pinned this for later. The kids and I all love their sandwiches but don’t love the additives their chicken has. This is doable. I’m stopping by from the Let’s Get Real Friday link party. Thanks for linking up with us. I hope you’ll join us again.
