Cookies & Cream Puppy Chow

I have mentioned before my love for Oreo cookies!!   They are absolutely my favorite snack to have in the house…my hips my not like them but I still love them anyways.  I was having family come into town and we always get together and play some sort of card games.  So I wanted to have to have some snacks that we all could enjoy.   The first thing that came to mind was muddy buddies.   When I started looking for muddy buddy recipes on line I was in shock at the variety that was availbale.  Then I saw this recipe from your Cup of Cake  and I knew right away that I needed to make it.

Well it was a huge hit and I fell in love with this recipe. So I know you will to.

On a side note, I always like to read the comments on recipes just to see if someone said they liked it.  I found it funny how people wanted us to make sure that we should not be feeding our dogs such a snack…ha ha!

Oreo Muddy Buddies

Cookies & Cream Puppy Chow
Prep time
Cook time
Total time
"Cream " Puppy Chow
  • 5 C. rice chex cereal
  • 1 C. white chocolate chips
  • 8 Oreos finely crushed
  • ½ C. powdered sugar
"Cookies" Puppy Chow
  • 5 C. rice chex cereal
  • 1 C. milk chocolate chips
  • 8 Oreos finely crushed
  • ½ C. powdered sugar
  • Extra Oreo cookies to break in half to add to the chex mix
  1. In a big bowl measure 5 cups of chex. In a small bowl add the crushed Oreos and powdered sugar. I crushed my Oreos by using my food processor. In a microwave safe bowl add the white chocolate until melted. Pour chocolate over chex until covered, add the crushed Oreos and stir until coated completely. Lay chex out on a cookie sheet until cooled and dried.
  2. Repeat steps using the milk chocolate
  3. When "cream" and "cookies" is completely cooled add the two flavors in a big bowl, breaking extra Oreos into chunks and add to the chex. Store in sealed container and enjoy!
I don't think it matters but I used double stuffed Oreos, only because they are the best and that's the only kind I buy!
I also like to add 1 Tbsp of Crisco to my chocolate while it is melting. Helps the chocolate to spread a little easier.
