Color Matching

My son is at the age where we are starting to learn the basics.   As a parent im trying to come across easy ways to help him learn  his colors, shapes, letters and numbers.  Trying to come up with ways to teach your child their colors can be quite complicating and frustrating.   So I thought I needed to make it fun for him to keep him entertained and interested in learning color matching.

So I created this quick and easy color matching wheel.  The best part it didn’t cost me a thing, since I had everything on hand already and it only took about an hour of my time.

Supplies needed:

Cardboard box (I used a diaper box)

Acrylic paint in assorted colors

Clothes pins

ruler

sharpie

Grab a nice shaped bowl from the kitchen and trace it on the cardboard.   With your ruler divide circle into 8 even triangles.  Paint each triangle and  1 clothes pin the same color and continue until each triangle is a different color.   Now you can write the color on both the triangle and clothes pin.

Hand it over to your toddler and help them match the clothes pin to the color on the color wheel.

  1. This is a great idea. We were struggling trying to use apps on the tablet and this is a much better idea. Thanks!
