I love a good grilled cheese sandwich. There is just something about the crispy bread with cheese oozing out of the middle. Umm my favorite! I often times at work get a grilled cheese sandwich but lately my co-workers have been getting these Apple Cheddar Panini. I thought why not give it a try! Well folks now im hooked!!
Last weekend I was trying to come up with something to eat for lunch for me and the family. So I decided to introduce them into the Apple Cheddar Panini. I personally think the best part of the entire sandwich is the sauce. Its sweet meets spicy, made with honey and Sriracha .
The combo of a sweet green apple with the sweet and spicy sauce turn into one phenomenal Apple Cheddar Panini
- 1 green apple, thinly sliced
- 7-9 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of bread
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 1 tsp Sriracha
- butter to spread on top of bread
- In a small bowl combine Sriracha and Honey together. Butter 1 side of each bread slice. Place butter side down on panini maker. Spread honey mixture on top of bread, layer with 2 cheese slices, layer with 2-4 green apple slices, then 2 more cheese slices. Spread a little more honey mixture on top of unbuttered bread. Close panini maker with butter side up. Let cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
