I’m going to be completely honest here, I have never ever tried a Tyson Cornish Hen! I know it is a shocker but it just something I didn’t have growing up or I was in my phase of I don’t eat meat and no you will not make me try it. But getting back to the point i’m a new fan of these Tyson Cornish Hens. I like how they are smaller then a normal chicken and alot easier to deal with plus they are full of flavor and tender. With the help of Kikkoman we have made the perfect chicken Seasoning for these Cornish hens!
The best way to start is to marinate your Cornish hens. I have had a simple marinate that I have used for a long time using Kikkoman Soy Sauce which is a great all purpose marinade to use with several of my favorite recipes. Add these few simple ingredients together for a perfect marinade.
Mix all the ingredients together and place in a Ziploc bag adding in 1 cup of water. Add Tyson Cornish hens and let sit overnight. I flipped the bag over to make sure each side got a marinade.
Now comes the fun part. Instead of baking these Cornish hens like many traditional recipes I wanted to grill them. I went digging through my garage to find my rotisserie for my grill. This is where the husband came handy. He placed the Cornish hens on the rotisserie and got them all ready to go for me. He placed them on the grill and I flipped on the switch and we watched them go around and around. When we grill we like to #Grill4Flavor and we love using the rotisserie method to grill because I love how it keeps your meat juicy! I did end up placing some tinfoil underneath the hens to help with heat control and to collect the drippings from the Cornish hens.
I cooked them on low heat for about 45-60 minutes. You need the temperature to reach 165 degrees. Remove from heat and let rest for 10 minutes before cutting.
Serve them up with your favorite side dishes!
- 1 package Tyson Cornish hens
- ⅓ cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
- ¼ cup oil
- 3 garlic gloves, minced or 1 Tbsp of the pre-minced garlic

- 3 Tbsp Lime Juice
- 1 cup water
- Mix all ingredients together and place in a Ziploc bag. Add in Cornish hens and let marinate overnight or at least a few hours. Flipping bag over to make sure each side gets a got marinade.
- Place on Rotisserie and place on grill and cook for 45-60 minutes until temperature reaches 165 degrees. Let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
