DIY No slip socks

With being a fairly new parents, we are still learning new things everyday.  Now that our son is walking and running that comes with a lot of falls, boo boos and many get better kisses.  Well it finally occurred to me that the reason to all of his falls could simply be his socks.   Our home is primarily hard wood, tile and carpet in the bedrooms.  While I was at the store browsing the toddler and baby section, I happened to notice that you can purchase socks with writings on the bottom that act as a gripper to help prevent them from falling.  Well of course the socks I have been purchasing do not have this writing.  So instead of tossing all of these socks I decided to purchase some puffer paint and write on the bottoms and see if it helps with the slipping and falling.  Well it worked!!  We still have a few falls but not nearly as many falls as we use to get.

You can design the socks any way want.  I kept mine simple with dots, x’s and lines.

After a few washing’s my paint started to crack slightly.  The smaller and less detailed I kept the design the better it held up!

Pumpkin Ale Cupcakes with Streusel Cream Cheese Frosting

My work is always having pot lucks!  Working at a hospital we don’t really have the option to leave and go get a bite to eat.  You also get tired of eating cafeteria food as well.  So this leads to Potlucks, and at my work we always have awesome potlucks.  We recently had one and I decided to bring the dessert.  Since its the time of year for pumpkin everything I decided to get on line and try to find a recipe that screamed out to me.  I just so happened to come across this recipe.

My work loved this recipe and I keep getting asked to make it again and bring into work.

Cinnamon Swirl Zucchini Bundt Cake

Where do I even start!!  This was by far the best zucchini  anythingI have ever tried!!  My husband was even love with it, and he still doesn’t believe me that there was zucchini inside.  The flavors are bursting together and its super moist.  Then to top it off,  the cinnamon glaze frosting drizzled all over.  Seriously this cake was the best I have ever had in a long long time!!

I came across this recipe on Pinterest when my garden was over flowing with Zucchini I have got to give Julie over at all the credit for this fantastic recipe!!!

Beefy Nacho Soup

It’s cold here in Utah!  Which means I can officially make soup every week and it would be okay!  I was looking through some cook books and I came across this recipe from Pillsbury.   It was extremly tasty and full of flavor.  Also it was super easy to make at a minutes notice. Plus I like how most of the ingredients I already have on hand.

Breakfast Pockets

I absolutely love breakfast.  It is my favorite meal of the day and its also the most important meal of the day.  But that also means we don’t always have the time to have a healthy and nutritious breakfast, which leads to either not eating, grabbing something unhealthy or stopping at the drive through at McDonalds.  Well this is one of my favorite go to breakfasts because you are eating something  healthier and more fulfilling to help you get through the day.  Plus its nice to eat it with your hand and the kiddos can eat while you are driving them to school and not make a huge mess in the back seat.

Plus you can make a whole bunch and freeze them and cook them in the microwave in the morning.
