Chocolate Strawberry Dessert Wrap

This come to shock to most people, but I have just discovered Nutella!! (I know where have I been) We were at Sams club and they were sampling these awesome flavored tortillas.  The chocolate tortilla was the best. I have never heard of or tasted one but they were delicious!
The sample lady spread Nutella and almonds on the chocolate tortilla and lighty warmed it.  It was so good I was in heaven!!  I went right over and bought some Nutella to take home with my chocolate tortillas! I have no idea I was missing out on such a wonderful treat!  I just can’t get enough of it!
While I was in my kitchen I was craving this Nutella wrapped and decided I should add some strawberries. I thought chocolate and strawberries compliment each other well…why not!  Then I thought so does whipped cream!  So this is the creation I have came up with.
I actually had it for breakfast 😉
I wanted to eat it before pictures and just make another one!  But I had a little bit of self control!

Doesn’t that look delicious!

Glass top cleaning! Which works best!

I honestly hate glass top ovens!!  When we bought our house the building was to far along that I was not able to add a gas stove so im currently stuck with electric.  I grew up cooking on a gas top and it was been a hard adjustment over the last few years.  I’m a messy cook! Im always flinging food out of the pan or on occasion boils over…whoops!
So my glass top never looks clean!
I saw a couple of different ways on Pinterest to clean glass tops so I thought I would try them and see which ones worked and which ideas didn’t work.
The first idea was to use baking soda.  So I sprinkled baking soda on top.  In a separate bowl I added warm water and dish soap and got two dish towels wet.  I placed the damp towels on top of the baking soda for 20 minutes and scrubbed afterwards.
My GROSS stove top!

It made a little difference but not enough to make me happy about it. I think it got the top layer off gunk off (gunk is a word..right)
So I thought I would give the next Pinterest idea a try.   It was to soak your oven t
op with vinegar.  I let the vinegar sit for about 20 minutes.  I cleaned it off and still didn’t get the clean I was looking for! (forgot to take pictures with vinegar)
Next was to use a razor blade.  I have used the blade before and it does work but I never used the blade this much.  I really scrubbed hard with blade!  I thought I would scratch my top but I never did. I think this is my WINNER!

All nice and clean
Forgive my window glare
I think the razor blade worked the best!  Maybe it was the combo of the baking soda and vinegar.  I don’t know but I really think it was the razor blade!  It was scrapping all the gunk off!
Now my stove top looks so much better and it even has a shine to it now.

Orange Julius

I absolutely love this drink!  But then again I love orange juice!  Its reminds me of an orange dreamsicle popsicle on a hot summer day.
With Easter approaching this weekend, this drink would be a great addition to your breakfast.

1 12oz can frozen orange juice (do not add the water)
1 cup milk
1 cup water
2/3 cup sugar
10-12 ice cubes

Blend all the ingredients together in your blender.
You could even add bananas, strawberries or even pineapple.

Iggy’s Copcat Sweet Chili Water

I enjoying going out to dinner more often then I should.  I really enjoy Iggy’s because they have a wide variety of foods to choose and everyone is happy.  The best part of Iggy’s is their sweet chili water.  I basically dunk everything in that sauce, I would drink it if I could.  So I got to looking and came across this sauce.  It’s not the exact same but I think it is pretty close in comparison.

When I decided I want to try to make this, I wanted to test out my bread making skills as well.  I have never  made french bread before.  So I thought I would give this recipe a try and I was quite surprised it turned out pretty good.  I adapted this recipe from Deals to Meals.  I love her website and her meals always seem tasty and look great.
I actually halved her recipe, because I knew it would make a lot of bread for just two people to eat! I made this bread in my Kitchen Aid with the dough hook.

French Bread
1 1/4 cup warm water
1 Tbsp Yeast- I used rapid Rise
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp White Vinegar
Mix together and let sit for 5 minutes or until foamy on top

Next add:
1/2 tbsp salt
2 1/2 Tbsp oil
3 cups flour-I used bread flour but all-purpose will be just fine. Add a little more flour if the dough is sticky to touch
Mix all together and knead for 5 minutes
When your done kneading, let rest in the bowl for 30 minutes

After 30 minutes I floured my counter and kneaded the bread for a few minutes.  Making 1 big rectangular dough ball

I divided my dough into 2 equal parts.  You can make 1 big loaf or a 2 small loafs

Form into french bread loaves and cut the diagonally slats on top

Let rest about 10 minutes or until it doubles in size

Bake at 350 for 27 minutes.  I coated mine in melted butter.
My melted butter had garlic powder, onion salt, garlic salt and parsley mixed in

  Sweet Chili Water
1 tsp minced garlic
1-2 red jalapeno peppers stems and seeded
3 Tbsp Peanut Oil
2 tsp Chili Powder
3/4 sugar
1/2 water Rice Wine Vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/4 salt
Mix all together in food processor until combined.  Put sauce in a pan and bring to a boil.
While that is boiling combine
1 Tbsp Cornstarch with 2 Tbsp water
When sauce is boiling add in cornstarch and boil until it thickens.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

My notes:
I wish with the bread I made it into 4 small loaves instead.  I was trying to make small loaves of bread, a little disappointed they got as big as they did.
On the sauce I think I would add an extra jalapeno to make it a little bit more spicy and maybe not as much vinegar.

"Egg-cited" for Easter

When me and my brother were going up my parents and grandparents always had an Easter egg hunt.  My mom would always hide our baskets, leave clues to find it or even leave a trail of jelly beans leading to our baskets.  My grandparents have a massive backyard so it was fun trying to find the eggs and the little toys for each of us.  My grandma would give each of us a ribbon color that we would need to look for so we knew which toys were ours and not your siblings or cousin.
Now that im a mom I want to start making traditions with my family.  I remember all these little things so much that I want my son to have these memories as well.  Besides its fun to watch there faces and see there reactions.
Such a cute idea to make and also really fun.  They are so cute im not sure I want to eat them
She has a lot I mean a lot of cute and creative ideas for Easter.  I love how she gets the kids involved.  I can’t wait until next year to start this a tradition.  This year he is way to young to understand.
I have been so “egg-cited” for Easter this year. Its my first year making a basket for my baby (I have made the husband one before but a baby makes holidays a lot more fun)  I was kind of lost as what to put in his basket since he cant really do much or eat much.
Such a fun way to entertain your kids with lots of ideas

The best part of Easter is dying the eggs.  I like how you can use Kool-Aid cause kids like to lick their fingers and I rather it be Kool-aid then the dyeing kit chemicals
Real Life

These are just a few cute and creative ideas for Easter.

Do you have an Easter traditions?  Im always looking for new ways to celebrate!

Rocky Road Chocolate Chips Cookies

I saw these on the internet and I just knew they would satisfy my chocolate craving.  I will admit that they were not as dreamy as I thought they would be. They were good but not the flavor I was hoping to get to satisfy my sweet tooth.  But I think you should all give them a try and see if your family will enjoy them.  On a side note the batter was really good.

2 cups Flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2/3 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup broken nuts
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmallows

In a separate bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt and set aside.  In another bowl mix the butter, sugar and eggs together until well blended. Mix in sour cream and vanilla.  Add in dry ingredients in sections and mix well together.  Using a spoon mix in chocolate chips and nuts. Place small round balls on a sprayed cookie sheet or use parchment paper.  Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.  Pull out of oven and add the marshmallows to the top and bake another 2 minutes. ( You don’t want your marshmallows to melt)  Let cool.
I added a little extra chocolate to the top.  I melted a few chocolate chips with a little bit of oil and drizzled on top of the cookie.

Classic Meatloaf

Meat Loaf

1lb hamburger
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 Tbsp Worchestire Sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Mix all ingredients together and put in a sprayed baking dish. Add the sauce to the top of meat loaf and bake at 350 for 50-65 minutes until no longer pink.

Meat loaf sauce (optional)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp mustard

Mix together and place on top on meat loaf and bake.

My notes:
I like to make a long bowl shape on top of the meat loaf.  I think it helps the sauce from running down the sides and getting saturated in the meat fat.
I cook for about 30 minutes, then with a turkey baster I drain out the grease.

My Toys-R-Us Savings for this week!

With my sons birthday fastly approaching.  I have been deciding on what toys to get him.  Since he is our first child we really don’t have anything besides the baby toys.  I have been looking around and Toys-R-Us had a pretty awesome deal going on this week that I just couldn’t pass.
I have been wanting to get a little jungle gym for the backyard and I have been eyeing the little coupe car as well so I knew I needed to get there and shop!  So I hopped in the truck and we were off.
So what was my great deal?
If you spend $100.00 on Little Tikes outdoors toys you get a FREE water table
So I bought this Climb and Slide Castle on Sale for $59.99 from $79.99
and Cozy Coupe on Sale for $38.00 from $59.99
So I bought those two items and got this for
FREE
Island Adventure Water Table $34.99
The only bummer part was I was $2.01 short of making my $100 total.  But luck would have it they also had all the Little Tikes toys on sale for  BOGO (buy 1 get 1 free)
So we got this wagon which was $26.99
And got this Big Adventure Raceway track ($24.99) for FREE
After all my shopping I only spent $133.55 with a total savings of  $101.96
Which is an awesome deal for the toys I was already planning on purchasing!
Since some of these toys are still a little to big for the little man, I will hide them in the basement.
The best part I already got my first Christmas present…yikes!
Did you get any great deals this weekend?  I would love to hear about them!

Creamy Poppyseed Pasta Salad

We love pasta at our house!  It always reminds me of summer time barbecues and being with friends and family.  Its easy to make in those hot summer months.  Let’s face it, who wants to be cooking in a hot kitchen!
Even though its not summer yet we actually hit 62 degrees a few days ago.  It was so nice and warm (even though it snowed 5 inches today) it was nice for that moment.  So I got a little excited and decided to make some pasta.

I don’t really have an exact recipe.  That’s the good thing about salads.  You can just add whatever you want, its endless possiblities.  You can also make this dish as big or as small as you want.

Kraft Anything Creamy Poppyseed (this dressing is hard to find so if you find it buy 2 because it wont be there when you go back)
Then I added different kinds of noodles (mini farfalle, rotini and penne)
Veggies- Bell peppers, onion, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers
Pepperoni
Cheddar cheese

Mix all together and enjoy.

Garlic Cheddar Biscuits

If you like Red Lobster then you will love these biscuits!  They are very similar to the restaurant but at the comfort of your own home!
